Tudor Dollhouse Toilets

When thinking about Tudor dollhouse toilets, remember that almost all hygienic functions in the Tudor era took place in the bedchamber or an adjacent alcove. Castle dwellers and the merchant class had choices. They could have a garderobe, for instance. a sort of privy that hung on the outside of the building. Or they could use closed stools and chamber pots. But for most of the population, human waste was disposed of in the most convenient places: out back in the garden or out front in the street. Dollhouse enthusiasts need not be too graphic about the subject. We have choices too.

Art Deco Needs More Love

I am not sure why we don’t see more art deco miniatures. It’s a wonderful era for dollhouse enthusiasts. You can have all the shiny, colorful objects you want. Flamboyant murals or stylized images from nature. Almost anything goes, as long as it’s declarative and streamlined.

Refurbishing This Old Dollhouse

The dollhouse is battered and worn. Several generations of little darlings have had their way with it. A loving father picked it up at a yard sale for next to nothing, the seller relieved that someone had hauled it away. Now she wouldn’t suffer guilt pangs because she trashed her grandmother’s treasure that had been taking up space in the attic.
