Miniature Decorating Ideas |Articles on decorating dollhouses and the history of this artform

MyBlog

I have had a life-long love affair with dollhouse miniatures, and careers in art education and interior design. I hope to combine these life experiences to help other miniature enthusiasts get more out of this wonderful hobby we enjoy, a hobby that often reaches the level of an art form. Susan Downing

The Catherine Palace

Kathleen Savage Browning reminds us of the premiere of the Catherine Palace, a 1:12 scale miniature inspired by the original palace constructed in 1717 for Peter the Great of Russia and his wife, Catherine I. The dollhouse will be on exhibit in the KSB Miniatures Collection at the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center from January 26 to April 30, 2016.

Read more about the builder of the dollhouse, Robert Dawson and the patron who commissioned it, Carole Kaye.
