I built the General Store room box to keep the memory of my great-grandfather alive. Will Hunt was an amazing man. He was part of a posse that ran Jesse James out of West Virginia, and lived long enough to watch Neil Armstrong walk on the Moon. Doris, A Colvin Cleaning Lady
I love Sherri Colvin’s ability to treat such amazing facial expressions on her dolls. Not surprising, I guess, considering her fine arts background and work in portraiture. Her series of cleaning ladies is my favorite.

Sara Rothe Cabinet Dollhouse, Gemeente Museum, The Hague
On April 2, 1743, Sara Rothe was the high bidder on 3 dollhouses created by Cornelia van der Gon, a leading dollhouse builder of the time. The incentive seems to have been to scavenge these dollhouses for their contents to improve the two cabinet dollhouse Rothe already owned. Apparently, it worked out. The dollhouse in the Franz Hals Museum is amazing. The one at on exhibit at the Gemeente Museum at The Hague equally so.

Monica Lavoie commented on my “Sara Rothe- The other Cabinet Dollhouse” post yesterday in the Facebook NAME group: “This is Gorgeous! I would have the doors removed though for viewing and have a sheet of thin glass placed over the rooms where the doors were to keep it clean inside”.
