I have had a life-long love affair with dollhouse miniatures, and careers in art education and interior design. I hope to combine these life experiences to help other miniature enthusiasts get more out of this wonderful hobby we enjoy, a hobby that often reaches the level of an art form. Susan Downing

Karate Outfit 1:12 Scale

One of my grandson’s – the 6 years old – is taking karate classes. So what’s a grandmother to do? Make a 1:12 scale karate outfit, of course, complete with karate soft shoes, numbchucks, boards to be broken with the famous karate chop, and the belt degrees sign. It’s a perfect accessory for a modern boy’s bedroom.

As I made such a big deal in a post about showing the scale of your work on a photo, I had to use this picture. I would ike to say my dinged-up right index finger was a result of an amateur using those numbchucks, but the cuts came from something more prosaic – doing fine work on tough leather with an X-acto knife.
